Maybe it's time to get everyone together to celebrate, see each other again, or get to know each other. Breckenridge is a perfect place for a Family Reunion due to it's proximity to DIA. It is located in the magnificent Rocky Mountains. Breckenridge offers great activities for every generation of your family. The History of Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships

  • January 13, 2020

With the 2020 Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships just around the corner, you probably would like to know how this event started - it is now one of the biggest and most visited events in Breckenridge! It all started in the 70s during Ullr Fest. Amateur teams started to make sculptures from giant heaps of snow in front of their shops on Main Street. Local realtors, Rob Neyland and Ron Shelton, made snow sculptures during every Ullr Fest in front of their real estate office. Rob and Ron were able to bring the state snow sculpture championships to Breckenridge in the '80s...

  • July 12, 2019

You may find during your stay in one of our condos or townhomes at Wedgewood Lodge that it sometimes gets a bit crowded in Breckenridge during high season. You can get away from it all by taking a short drive south on Highway 9, which takes you over the Continental Divide at Hoosier Pass into Park County. Although Park County is a less-travelled pocket of Colorado than Summit County, you'll find it no less awe-inspiring! When you head south from Breckenridge on Highway 9, the first town you will enter is the Town of Blue River. Here you can find the trailhead to beautiful Mohawk Lakes. As...

  • March 18, 2019

Breckenridge has taken several top honors as one of the most popular ski destination in North America and also, one of the best places to live! With a 94" snow depth this season so far, this makes it one of the best ski seasons in Breckenridge since it's opening day, December 18, 1961. We are proud to be known as one of the top places to ski & snowboard. However, we realize not everyone is into skiing - and we are thankful as it would be way too crowded on the mountain! Here are some of our favorite off-mountain activities - you should try at least one or two, they are all a great way to experience...

The secret is out … Breckenridge, Colorado is not just a winter destination. Sure, the 300+ average inches of snow a year brings its share of snow enthusiasts, but with more and more year-round activities to take part in, Breckenridge is quickly becoming the place to be all year long. It’s No Wonder Artists Find Such Inspiration in Breckenridge!

  • August 17, 2017

One of the things guests and locals alike love most about Breckenridge is our rich and vibrant art scene. Today I’ll leave my job at our Breckenridge hotel, grab a bite downtown and boogie over to the Riverwalk Center to see Rhiannon Giddens wail on the microphone. On my way through town, I’ll see several art installations which are part of the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts (BIFA) and I’ll stop to throw a couple of bucks in the guitar case of the four-piece bluegrass band doing a pop-up performance in Blue River Plaza. If I’m in the right place at the right time, I’ll even...
