Usually somewhere between 8:05AM and 8:30AM the topic of conversation around here will turn to what everyone plans to have for lunch. And it carries on intermittently throughout the morning.

Every once in a while it quiets down. Like when Beth is eating her grapefruit. Or I’m eating my ramen noodles. (Yes. I really just said that. I’m old enough to be President and I still eat ramen.) And when Sarah or Brigitte are drinking their fancy shakes. Well, they call them juices but I personally contend that juices are made of things that grow on trees. Like apples and oranges. However, things that grow in the ground should be in…stew. Or on my cheesesteak. I’ll let ‘shake’ slide (I still think it’s a stretch, I mean, shouldn’t shakes have milk? And ice cream?).

Ahem. Where was I? Ah yes.

Moral of the story: when we’re not talking about food around here it is because we’re eating it.

At least once a week, this exact conversation is had verbatim:

RING!~RING!

“Northside Pizza, how can I help you?”
“Hi! I’d like to place an order for delivery.”
“What’s your phone number?”
“970-453-1800.”
“Wedgewood Lodge, is this the front desk?”
“Yup.”

Like I said, we order from them a lot.

Prior to calling we always stare at the menu for an obligatory few minutes, yet each of us ends up ordering the same thing nearly every time. We’re creatures of habit like that.
